"SEE BSL" was set up in 2005 to help promote BSL in the commercial sector - specifically for Internet use. Businesses and Organisations are starting to realise that there are huge benefits in including some or extensive use of BSL in their web pages.

Our role is to help and advise businesses in just how the inclusion of BSL-assisted pages can increase potential sales and project the right image.

Text is frequently not the first language for many deaf people. Without BSL, navigation and sourcing the right information can be tedious and slow. SEE-BSL assisted pages can also provide Deaf-specific information.

Are there any other BSL services?

Yes there are. SignPost BSL, part of ITV, provide BSL signing, predominantly for broadcast. SEE-BSL is a little different in that it takes a pro-active approach to the use of BSL on web pages by contacting companies direct.
